Between July 16-August 2, AAAS ran a #HowWeRespond social media campaign via@MeetAScientist, and held a Facebook Live on July 28 with the lead characters from the new film, which had 1.6k views.
The AAAS email announcement was shared with nearly 2,000 people, and their Office of Government Relations also separately shared stories with the Science & Technology, Environment, and Health staff of the Senate and House offices of Missouri and South Carolina.
Other resources AAAS previously developed related to How We Respond, which you might be interested in, include a “practice brief” with the University of Washington’s STEM Teaching Tools program, Using Local Phenomena to Communicate Climate Solutions.
AAAS also rolled out a climate conversations workshop module (described on this webpage), which draws on many of the stories from How We Respond. They have offered both one-hour and three-hour versions of it to several groups, including the AAAS Local Science Engagement Network (LSEN), and a 45-minute version at the AAAS Annual Meeting (recording here).
If you know of groups who might be interested in this workshop or seminar, please let us know! It is primarily oriented toward scientists who want to engage with communities about climate change.
