Client:

The Greensfelder Forum is an annual awards program and dinner event of Washington University in St. Louis to honor distinguished leaders in energy, environment, and sustainability. The 2018 event was organized by the International Center for Energy, Environment and Sustainability and five campus partners: the Environmental Studies Program, Living Earth Collaborative, Office of Sustainability, Tyson Research Center and Washington University Climate Change Program.

Goals:

Develop a comprehensive print and digital media package to inform and attract attendees to this prestigious awards event, and the supplementary events organized around the program.

Our goal was to design material that reflected the elegance and prestige of the event, told a compelling story about the awards, and adhered to the rigorous brand standards of the university.

The Project:

Printed material

We designed a variety of digital and printed material for this event, including banners to hang on campus, mailing and digital invitations, flyers for an accompanying afternoon workshop on climate change, and more. Here is a subsample of the print material:

The posters

Approximately 20 campus groups were invited to present a poster at the networking session following the awards ceremony. We designed an initial poster template, which was approved by the University, and then worked with each campus group to craft a custom poster for the session, to share their individual goals, vision, and accomplishments. Here is a subsample of the posters:

the execution

The day-long event included an afternoon workshop on climate change, an evening awards ceremony, and a post-awards networking poster session. The awards ceremony was held in the Living World at the Saint Louis Zoo, and included welcome remarks from the Chancellor of Washington University, the presentation of 7 environmental leadership awards, and closing remarks from a professor in the Environmental Studies department.
